Mark Benson

Mr. Benson earned his Bachelor’s degree in Social Science and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from California State University Sacramento.  Mr. Benson started his career in education at Harriet Eddy Middle School as a History and Computer Technology teacher. He later added Physical Education to his teaching assignment.  Mr. Benson served as Principal of Harriet Eddy for six years.  After 14 years at Harriet Eddy, Mr. Benson is excited to continue to serve his home region as Principal of Laguna Creek High School.

Justin Harman, Vice Principal

Mr. Harman joined LCHS in 2007 as a Social Science teacher and began as the Teacher In Charge in 2016. Mr. Harman received a Bachelor's Degree in History from the University of California, Davis and attended California State University, Sacramento for his teaching credential. In the spring of 2016, Mr. Harman completed his Master's Degree in Applied School Leadership from National University. Mr. Harman has spent his entire career in the Elk Grove Unified School District, and is proud to call Laguna Creek High School his home.

Kelly Henschel, Vice Principal

Mrs. Henschel

Mrs. Henschel has spent her entire 19 year career in Secondary Education at both the middle and high school level. She earned he Bachelors Degree from UC Davis in Human Development and her teaching credential from San Francisco State University. In 2016, Mrs. Henschel completed her Masters of Science in Educational Leadership from Cal State East Bay.  Having recently moved from the Central Coast of California, Mrs. Henschel is new to Elk Grove and is thrilled to join the wonderful staff and students at Laguna Creek. She looks forward to getting to know and working collaboratively with the staff, students, and parents that make up the Laguna Creek community.

Jennifer Keyport, Vice Principal

Mrs. Keyport

Mrs. Keyport has been a science teacher in secondary schools for 16 years. 11 of those years were in Elk Grove, starting in 2007 as a Cardinal at Laguna Creek.  She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1998 in Exercise Science from the University of Oregon and a Master of Secondary Education degree and teaching credential in 2001 from Western Washington University. Mrs. Keyport is thrilled to return to Laguna Creek as a Vice Principal and looks forward to serving and supporting the students, staff, and families of this wonderful school community.

Scott McCullough, Teacher In Charge

Scott McCollough

Mr. McCullough received his Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Azusa Pacific University and worked in the public and non-profit sector for the first part of his career.  He began his public education career as a substitute teacher for EGUSD.  Following the completion of his credential and Master’s degree in Special Education at National University, he taught at Lodi High School in the Special Education Program for 5-½ years.  During that time he completed his Administrative credential from UC Stanislaus.  When the opportunity arose, he applied for the Teacher In Charge position at Laguna Creek High School and began on August 27, 2018.  He is thrilled to not only be back with EGUSD, but has found a home at Laguna Creek High School.  He feels privileged to work with an incredible administrative team as well as all of the fantastic staff and students that make up the Laguna Creek High School Community.
